WCVIS Members are those who are devoted to preparing themselves for endovascular and interventional surgery (EVIS) practice, beyond simply acquiring the technical skills of operating. Our members strive to learn the breadth of disease management through whatever means necessary, including spending time with other clinical services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, rounding on patients whose care the member is involved with, and studying available resources to become more familiar with the breadth of diseases which EVIS can manage. Our members dedicate themselves to comprehensive patient care, which necessitates, but is not limited to, consultation in an outpatient clinic (including patients with “undifferentiated” disease), admission of patients to a primary service, thorough and often lifelong follow-up of all patients (not only patients intervened upon), and prescription of appropriate medications and lifestyle counseling for nonoperative management.
WCVIS Members are deemed by the WCVIS leadership to be those who are dedicated to serving their patients as true clinicians and surgeons.
